I was blessed to get recognition on the front page of the County newspaper and in the largest Central IL Valley paper yesterday. I donated my time and talent to 200 walkers participating in the March of Dimes Walk for Bureau County which came out to about $400 from Scrap That Moment. I painted faces of both children and some fun adults.

Did a # on my neck.

Haven’t posted in a few days. I thought my tolerance for pain was a 7.0 on the richter scale, but Sat morn proved to be earth shattering for me. I woke up to severe spasms like a knife being driven in my neck just below my skull. I couldn’t sit up or move my head. Actually it’s frightening getting old. I haven’t cried out in pain like that since I had that golf ball size kidney stone removed a couple years ago. Doc Martin got me into his chiropractic clinic asap and I don’t think I’ve ever in my life heard my bones crack/move like that and I was a gymnast! So now that the world and my neck have been set right- I can get back to life and business. My best friend the past few days has been ice/heat every 20 min and extra strength tylenol that really hasn’t done much of nothing. I can drive now and move my neck to see side to side. I did a couple sweet projects last week with the children during our STM Spring Break classes. Darling kids. Love bringing out their confidence in their creativity.

AWOL = “Absence With Out Lynette” I’ve been @ my old employer’s Christian Business Leaders Conference in Waikoloa, Hawaii for the past week. I am now replenished and inspired by people, colors, scenery, art, and of course~ Him.

Some of my favorites moments I need to scrap include my morning walks on the ocean trail at 6am (sunrise), the delicious meals, and my new & renewed friends.

As I download my memory cards, read my notes from journals, and basically get my mojo flowin’ keep checking back here because I promise to share my muse.

Bureau County Republican (Newspaper) Article

Todays’ article says, “Community supporters browse through auction items during Saturday evening’s Bureau County United Way fundraiser at the Wise Guys in Princeton. This year’s annual fundraiser included an auction of decorated chairs as well as other items, including weekend getaway packages, sports items, jewelry and steak boxes. The evening also included a dinner and dance, with live entertainment by Frank and Dave, a musical duo from Chicago. The Bureau County United Way helps fund 15 not-for-profit health and human services agencies.”

Quickie Sports Themed Gifts

These took me no time flat to design and decorate.

1.) I took a Limoncello bottle (delicious if you haven’t ever tried, it’s available at my friend Laura’s store called “Beetz Me” in Princeton, IL) I took a bazzill white cardstock tag as the base, and cut Worldwin smooth black cardstock into a circle. Then took my Crafters Workshop templates and used pastel lemon lime pencil chalks to decorate. A quick pop of the Scrappin Sports and More tennis ball paper and a sweet hand written title that says, “you’ve been served.” The bookkeeping girls at the bank were the lucky recipients of the gift for running extra copies of back statements for free for my new accountant/CPA. Should have cost me $60, that’s what I call great service!

United Way Chair-ity Event

I am donating my time and talent to help raise money by designing a chair for our Bureau County Chapter. The auction for the chairs is March 10th at Wise Guys Bar & Grill. Tickets are available by calling the BCUW office at 815-872-0821. As soon as I’m finished with the chair-ity it will be on display at Bead Buzz.
